STILL LIFE and PORTRAITURE
DRAWING WITH CHARCOAL,PASTEL, GRAPHITE
Charcoal drawings on cave walls were the first recorded art and visual record of man. Using your observational drawing skills, you will learn how to use this ancient material - charcoal. With most art materials, there is no one 'right or wrong' way to use it, but a selection of approaches which may suit your way of working. Often you will need to experiment to find which method suits you best.
The techniques used in drawing with charcoal, pastels, and dry crayon are very much alike. Often all three of these materials are used in the same drawing. Charcoal is charred wood. Sticks of charcoal are sold in every art supply shop. You can even make your own!
Look on the picture to see my charcoal drawing materials.
Total Cost $25 (2 hour session)
